San Francisco art dealer to join the first Japanese theme antique show at Little Tokyo in 20 years, Aug 16

 

Cultural News presents “Art and Antique Show” on Sunday, Aug 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kyoto Grand Hotel, 120 South Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, at Little Tokyo in Los Angeles Downtown.

 

Subtitled as “A Small marketplace to find Japan’s Inspiration to fill your heart,” Japanese antiques and artworks will be exhibited for sale.

 

San Francisco art dealer Asaka Fine Arts will join with reputed antique dealers Genkai Japanese Antiques of Long Beach, Jim Hsieh of Glendale, and Ryu Decorative Products of Studio City.

 

Historically accurate replicas of samurai armors (Yoroi) will be exhibited by Samurai Store International of Tokyo, only authorized international distributor for Marutake Sangyo, leading manufacturer of premier samurai armors in Japan.

 

Artworks by contemporary ceramic artists Julie Bagish and Mariko Bird, and textile dyeing designer Setsuko Hayashi, are also displayed.     

 

Buddhism figures and tools will be brought by Kanzeonji zen/yoga practice center of Mt. Washington. Kyudo (Japanese archery) tools are also available at Kanzeonji booth.

 

The first Japanese theme antique show in Little Tokyo in twenty years, will be held to coincide with the Nisei Week Festival Parade on Aug 16 at 5:30 p.m.
